Prophet of Allah
Adam (AS)
آدم
Known in other traditions as: Adam
Sent to: First humanity
The first human being and the first prophet. Created from clay, taught the names of all things, and made the father of mankind.
Story
Allah created Adam from clay and breathed His spirit into him. He taught Adam the names of all things — knowledge that exceeded even the angels. When Allah commanded the angels to prostrate to Adam, all complied except Iblis, who refused out of arrogance. Adam and his wife Hawa lived in the Garden until they were tested by the forbidden tree. When they slipped, Adam took responsibility, repented sincerely, and Allah taught him the words of repentance. They were sent to earth as the beginning of humanity.
Key Lessons
- Honor in creation does not make any being immune to slipping.
- Taking responsibility separates the believer from the disbeliever.
- Repentance is built into human nature — Allah taught it from the start.
- Iblis is real and patient. His method is whispering.
