Prophet of Allah
Musa (AS)
موسى
Known in other traditions as: Moses
Sent to: Pharaoh and the Children of Israel
Kalim-ullah — the One spoken to by Allah. Confronted Pharaoh, parted the sea, received the Tawrah on Mount Sinai.
Story
Born during Pharaoh's massacre of Israelite male infants, Musa's mother placed him in a basket on the Nile. He was raised in Pharaoh's own palace. After defending an Israelite and accidentally killing an Egyptian, he fled to Madyan, married, and worked as a shepherd for ten years. Allah spoke to him directly at the burning bush on Mount Sinai and sent him back to Pharaoh with miraculous signs. Pharaoh refused. After plagues and confrontations with Pharaoh's magicians (who became believers and were martyred), Allah parted the sea for Musa and his people. Pharaoh and his army drowned.
Key Lessons
- Allah's protection works inside the home of His enemy.
- Direct speech with Allah is a miracle preserved for him.
- Tyranny cannot defeat truth even if the believer stands alone.
- The sea opens for those who walk forward in obedience.
